How to prepare your body for IVF

Preparing for IVF or ICSI is a holistic process, and a thoughtful approach can make a real difference. The key is to support overall health and balance. A few factors are pushing in different directions, like nutrition, stress management, and medical considerations. One part of the job is nourishing your body with a balanced diet. Another part is keeping lifestyle factors like sleep and exercise in check. It helps to reduce stress through mindfulness or relaxation techniques. Once that frame is clear, medical advice from your fertility team fits in more naturally. That gives us a clean path to practical suggestions. So, let’s break down those steps.

First, focus on a nutrient-rich diet. Think plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Try to limit processed foods and refined sugars. Hydration matters too—drink plenty of water. Lifestyle-wise, moderate exercise is great; think walks, yoga, or whatever you enjoy. Sleep is essential: aim for 7 to 8 hours a night. Reduce alcohol and avoid smoking. On the medical side, follow your doctor’s guidance on any supplements like folic acid, vitamin D, or prenatal vitamins.
